You must be running the Demo Version. To get rid of the nag screen you need to purchase a full version of the screensaver at www.Atlantis3D.com. You’ll also get extra creatures that don’t show up in the demo version. Right away you'll notice more species of sharks, such as the Great White.

Will Atlantis3d screensavers run on my old Voodoo card?
Yes, our screensavers will run on Voodoo 3, 4 and 5 video cards. However, bump maps, shadows and anti-aliasing will be turned off and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you must run your system on 16 bit color quality mode. To change to 16 bit color quality right click on your desktop and pick 'properties'. Select the 'Settings' tab. Use the drop down arrow to select your color quality mode and pick 16 bit. -
Will Atlantis3d screensavers run on my Nvidia GeForce Card?
Absolutly! All GeForce cards will work, but the newer (and better) your GeForce card is, the more features you will have available. These features include bump mapping, anti-aliasing, real-time shadows, caustic lighting and more! [Back to top]
-
Will Atlantis3d screensavers run on my ATI card?
It all depends on the card. Most newer ATI cards will work. Some older ATI cards will need to run with reduced features and will have slower frame rates. [Back to top]

Why does the screensaver not load or crash when I launch?
You most likely have an incompatible video card or an old driver. Check the readme file included with the program for a list of what video cards should work. One rule of thumb, if you don’t have a 3D graphics DirectX 8.1 or newer compatible video card with at least 16 megs of onboard ram, the program will not run.
You should also check with your card manufacturer to make sure you are running the most current driver version.
-
Why am I missing all or some of the textures?
Your video card probably doesn’t have 16 megs of ram or you need to update your video card drivers. Check the readme.rtf file included with the program for a list of what video cards should work.
Check with your video card website to make sure you are running the most current drivers. [Back to top]

A message comes up stating that the program did not detect 3D hardware.
Solution 1: If you have a 3D video card like a 3DFx card, try setting your color depth to 16 bit. To do this, right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the ‘Settings’ tab and under ‘Color Quality’ select ‘16 bit’. (For better cards you should run at 32 bit if you can, everything will look better).
Solution 2: If you have a newer 3D video card and it was not properly identified. Just close the error message and the Display Properties box and reboot. Right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the ‘Screen Saver’ tab and pick out your screensaver(if not already selected). Select any Settings options that you wish and try the screensaver, it should work fine.
Solution 3: You need to purchase a 3D video card. We recommend an ATI Radeon 9000 or above or an Nvidia GeForce 3 or above.

In SharkVisions, why am I seeing the
Your video card may not be fast enough to play the motion scene at a decent frame rate, so we automatically selected ‘Fixed’ camera scenes. You can manually override this in the screen saver ‘Settings’ area. Right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the ‘Screen Saver’ tab and pick ‘SharkVisions’ (if not already selected) as your screen saver. Then click on the ‘Settings’ button. Select the ‘Scenes’ tab. Click on the ‘Motion’ radio button. That’s it. (You can go back to ‘Fixed’ scenes at any time). [Back to top]

Why does Sharkvisions
Solution 1: Right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the Screen Saver tab and pick ‘SharkVisions’ (if not already selected) as your screen saver. Click on the ‘Settings’ Button. Select the ‘Settings’ tab. Turn caustics to either ‘Low’ or ‘None’, turn Shadows to either ‘Static’ or ‘None’ Uncheck ‘Bumpmaps’ if checked. Uncheck ‘ROV’ and ‘Diver’ if checked. Select the Scenes tab and make sure the radio button is set to ‘Fixed Camera Scene’, not ‘Moving Camera Scene’.
Solution 2: Purchase a better video card. You probably have an older video card. We recommend an ATI Radeon 9000 or above or an Nvidia GeForce 3 or above. These cards will give you all the features included with SharkVisions and should help you run at a good frame rate (assuming the rest of your system meets the minimum system requirements listed in the ReadMe file included in the download).

In SharkVisions why am I only seeing three sharks and cannot select the other four species?
You are probably running the demo version of SharkVisions that only comes with three species of sharks. In the Demo version we let you look at all seven, but only select three. If you have installed the full version already, make sure you have the full version selected as your screensaver. Right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the ‘Screen Saver’ tab and make sure you have ‘SharkVisions’, not ‘SharkVisions Demo’, selected as your screen saver. (You may also want to uninstall the Demo version in your Windows® ADD/REMOVE software area of Control Panel). [Back to top]
-
Why am I seeing bands of color in the background?
You are probably running in a color depth below 32 bit. To see if your video card can handle a higher color depth (more colors) Right click on your desktop and select ‘Properties’. Go to the Settings Tab. Look at the ‘Color quality’ and use the drop down arrow to select 32 bit. If you don’t see an option for 32 bit, you can try lowering the Screen resolution first and then see if ‘Color quality’ offers 32 bit. If not, then you would need to purchase a better video card (this will benefit your display for other programs beyond just this screen saver). We recommend the ATI Radeon 9000 or above, or the Nvidia GeForce 3 or above. [Back to top]

Where are the other creatures?
If you don't see them you are probably running the Demo version. To get all the current creatures (and any we might add in the future) you need to purchase a full version of the screensaver at www.Atlantis3D.com. [Back to top]

Will there be new creatures for those who purchase the full version?
Probably, (but no promises) we would like to improve the screensavers, adding new features, creatures and/or effects from time to time. [Back to top]

How do I shut off the sound?
A.There are two ways to do that. To permanently shut them down go to your desktop and left-click. Select ‘Properties’ from the pop-up menu. Select the ‘Screen Saver’ tab at the top. Highlight the name of your screensaver and left-click on ‘Settings’. Go to the Settings Tab at the top. You can adjust the sound effects volume or the music volume using the sliders, all the way to the left turns the sound off completely. On the other hand, if you want to just temporarily turn off the sound while you talk or receive a phone call, you can just hit the ‘S’ key on you keyboard. Hit it again to turn the sound back on. This will only affect this session, and the next time the screensaver activates the sound will be back on unless you turn it off in ‘Settings’ as described above. [Back to top]

Can I take a screenshot of my favorite scene and use it for my desktop wallpaper?
Absolutely! If you happen to catch your favorite creatures in an awesome pose, just hit the ‘F2’ key on your keyboard and the shot will be saved to the root of the screensaver's directory as a file called ??_SS000(thru2).bmp. Just copy this file from there into your Windows directory, or wherever you like to store your desktop pictures. Then just select that picture from the desktop properties menu system. Important Note: You can only take three screen shots unless you move or delete the old ones from your screensaver directory. If you keep shooting pictures you will start overwriting the oldest ones first. If you are using dual monitors, DiveVisions and SharkVisions will automatically create wide screen shots what will now work as wall paper across both monitors! Cool hey?

How do I get Dual Monitors to work in panorama mode?
If you are using a GeForce 4 or 5 video card and have Nvidia’s latest drivers with ‘NView’ you can use the panorama view to see DiveVisions or SharkVisions across both monitors. Other high end video cards from ATI and Matrox may also be able to enjoy this view if they have software similar to NView that does horizontal stretching.
Here’s how to turn it on with NView: first, you need to hook both monitors to the one video card. Then go to your desktop Display Properties and pick the Settings tab. Make sure that the second monitor does not have the “Extend the windows desktop onto this monitor” option checked. After that choose the Advanced button and select the GeForce4 Ti tab at the top. When your cursor gets over the main window a small pop out menu will display with the “NView Display mode” near the top of the list. Select this and choose the radio button by the Horizontal Span selection. This should now extend the screensaver in a panorama view across both monitors.
If you are using brands other than GeForce 4 cards, you will have to see if there is some third party software for the Horizontal stretch option. [Back to top]
